Among Us review
September 29, 2020
Among Us is a multiplayer computer game, which was released by American studio InnerSloth LLC. The game was inspired by the party game Mafia and the science fiction horror film The Thing.
Among Us's gameplay, though relatively simple, is quite unique. The game is played from two perspectives: as a ghost and a live player. The former is designed to help the latter by completing their tasks or performing acts of sabotage. Players can also choose to quit at any time and automatically complete all of their tasks, though this leaves them vulnerable to being randomly selected as an Impostor.
The Impostor's objective is to kill the other living players, who must work together to identify and eject the Impostor(s) before the game ends. The Crewmates' objective is to complete their tasks before the Impostor(s) sabotage critical systems or the Crewmate(s) eliminate the Impostor(s).
Overall, the game is a fast-paced, high-strategy affair that lives up to the notoriety of its namesake. In the game, you would be playing one of the crew members who must work together to complete the tasks and keep the ship in order. Your goal is to complete the tasks before the impostor can destroy critical systems on the ship or get most crewmembers killed. The impostors' goal is to kill the crewmembers and destroy as many critical systems as possible before they can be identified. If they get most of the crew killed, they win.
The graphics are as simple as the gameplay, but they’re also incredibly charming. The 2D art and simple animations are easy to look at and follow, and they lend themselves to the game’s whimsical style. All the characters of the game are ideally stylized. The backgrounds are perfectly matched. You'll feel like you're in real space
The controls in Among Us are smooth and easy to get used to. To move, you simply tap the directional buttons in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. They are always visible, despite the fact that you’re playing in either portrait or landscape mode. This allows you to move at your own pace, without being forced to keep up with the character’s walking speed. You can also tap on the buttons to select them, which makes it easier to select from a list or multiple items.
The player can choose to replay the game to see who is the Imposter(s). The game will help develop deductive abilities and will help you learn how to find betrayers.
Among Us is a perfect game for all Mafia lovers. You can play yourself with the players you find in the game or with your friends. The controls of the game are easy to learn. The game is highly replayable. So, if you’re looking for a game to amuse you for an evening, Among Us is perfect for you.
