Unveiling Mysteries: The X-Men's New Base and the Sentinel Above

In the latest developments of the X-Men series, questions surrounding the team’s base and objectives are beginning to be addressed. The X-Men have recently moved into a new base, situated in an abandoned Sentinel factory in Merle, Alaska, right beneath a towering frozen Sentinel. However, the circumstances surrounding their relocation and the origin of the Sentinel overhead remain unclear. These mysteries are set to unfold in X-Men #7, with a preview of the interior artwork now available.

The unlettered pages, created by writer Jed MacKay, guest illustrator Netho Diaz, alongside colorist Marte Gracia, depict a fierce exchange between X-Men co-leaders Cyclops and Magneto. Tensions rise as they prepare to confront the enormous Sentinel, hinting at the backstory behind the newly established headquarters and the objectives of the X-Men.

A glimpse at the pages, alongside the cover designed by series regular artist Ryan Stegman, is worth checking out. Marvel's official overview of X-Men #7 poses intriguing questions regarding the town of Merle, Alaska: what connection does it have with the X-Men? Where did the dormant Sentinel above it originate? More crucially, what was its purpose?

These queries have been prevalent since the beginning of the ongoing X-Men relaunch, which incorporates three main titles. X-Men serves as the initial installment, primarily revolving around the phenomenon of adult humans unexpectedly developing mutant powers. This narrative took an intriguing twist in the preceding issue, X-Men #5, which reintroduced the antagonist Cassandra Nova, who is linked to the delayed activation of X-genes.

X-Men #7 is set to be released on November 6. Stay informed about the upcoming X-Men comic releases Marvel has on the horizon.
