Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP: A Glimpse into the Switch Version's Upgrades and Limitations

The upcoming release of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is generating buzz among gaming enthusiasts. Scheduled for launch on September 12th, this remastered version brings numerous graphical upgrades to the beloved 2012 title.

While it will become available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, it is also set to be released on the less powerful Nintendo Switch. This has raised questions about the extent of the enhancements for that particular platform. In a lengthy post on X, game designer Yoshimi Yasuda elaborated on what players can expect from the Switch adaptation. He noted that the resolution has been upgraded to full HD, a step up from the original’s HD quality.

However, he confirmed that the frame rate remains unchanged at 30 frames per second, mirroring the original game. Although some modern graphical effects are absent due to the limitations of the Switch, the development team has focused on optimizing the lighting across various stages. For those interested, Yasuda's posts include a detailed breakdown and a brief gameplay video showcasing the Switch version.
