Jul-28-2024
Capcom, a prominent name in the gaming industry, is embarking on a new mission to enhance its operations. Despite several years of financial prosperity and maintaining a loyal fanbase, the company continues to seek improvements and innovation in various aspects.
Fans of Capcom have enjoyed several impressive remakes of the company’s classic titles, highlighting their commitment to revisiting and revitalizing beloved games. Additionally, Capcom has assured its audience that physical games will remain available and has even toyed with the idea of reducing the price of new game releases.
The game maker’s latest strategy for staying relevant and adaptive involves diversifying its workforce. During a recent meeting with shareholders, Capcom disclosed its aim to amplify the presence of women in managerial roles, providing an opportunity for more female voices to shape the company’s direction and policies.
Part of this new initiative includes setting a target for women to occupy at least 15% of management positions. Alongside this, Capcom plans to collaborate more with creators from outside Japan, fostering a blend of different cultural influences within the company. Currently, women make up 21.2% of Capcom's employees and 13.6% of its core talent. By expanding their focus and increasing the percentage of women in managerial roles, Capcom is optimistic about seeing a rise in female directors in the future.
