2XKO Roster Adds Illaoi, the Kraken Priestess

Riot Games has recently shared an exciting trailer revealing Illaoi, the Kraken Priestess, as a dynamic new fighter in its soon-to-be-released game, 2XKO. The trailer, which extends over six minutes, initially focuses on displaying Illaoi’s combat capabilities with a showcase of her powerful moves and combos during the first 50 seconds.

The video then transitions into a detailed narration provided by game designer Caroline Montano, who explains the design and strategic elements of Illaoi’s character. Montano describes Illaoi as a robust juggernaut-type fighter, crafted to dominate foes by consistently pressuring them with her potent attacks. Once Illaoi finds a breach in her opponent's defense, she employs her unique tentacle moves to further subdue them.

The character’s primary strategies involve deploying her spirit tentacles through her S2 special attacks, while her S1 specials facilitate additional tentacle strikes. Montano clarifies that despite Illaoi's reliance on tentacles, her gameplay does not categorize her as a puppet character.

Fans will get a chance to experience Illaoi along with characters like Ekko, Ahri, Darius, and Yasuo at an early build demonstration at Evo 2024. Slated for release in 2025, 2XKO promises a rich roster and profound gameplay mechanics, offering a refreshing addition to the next-gen console and PC gaming scene.
